Esjay Music – Studio Terms & Conditions

Definitions

• Client – The individual or group booking studio time with Esjay Music.
• Session – The reserved block of studio time booked by the Client, including setup, tracking, and recording.
• Deposit – The non-refundable amount paid to secure a booking.
• Balance – The remaining amount due after the Deposit, payable at the end of the Session.
• Editing – Work performed outside of live recording (comping, arranging, tuning, mixing, or mastering).
• Deliverables – The audio files provided to the Client once all payments have been made in full.
• Overtime – Any time extending beyond the booked Session, billed in 1-hour increments at the standard rate.
• Guests – Individuals accompanying the Client who are directly contributing (limited to two).

1. Booking & Rates

• Studio sessions are billed at $100/hour, with a 3-hour minimum.
• All bookings must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.

2. Deposit & Payment

• A 50% non-refundable Deposit is required to confirm your booking.
• With at least 48 hours’ notice, Deposits may be credited toward a rescheduled Session (subject to availability).
• The Balance is due at the end of your Session, before delivery of any files.
• Late payments are subject to a 5% fee after 7 days.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will forfeit the Deposit.
• No-shows will be charged the full booked amount.

4. Session Time & Overtime

• Session time begins at the scheduled start time, not arrival time. Please arrive promptly.
• Overtime is billed in 1-hour increments at the standard rate.

5. Editing & Post-Production

• Session bookings cover tracking and setup only.
• Additional Editing services are billed separately.
• Estimates are available upon request; billing reflects actual time worked.

6. Deliverables & File Policy

• Clients must provide a designated email or delivery method before/during the Session.
• Deliverables are released only after all balances and fees are paid.
• Esjay Music will retain Session files for 90 days; storage after this is not guaranteed.
• Clients are responsible for backing up all Deliverables once received.

7. Studio Rules

• Only the artist plus two contributing Guests may attend Sessions.
• No smoking, alcohol, or drugs are permitted on the premises.
• Clients are responsible for their Guests’ conduct.
• Any damage to studio property caused by negligence or misuse will be billed to the Client.

8. Rights & Ownership

• Clients retain ownership of their original recordings and compositions.
• Esjay Music retains ownership of all Session files until full payment is received.

9. Liability

• Esjay Music is not liable for lost data, corrupted files, or technical issues beyond our control.
• By booking a Session, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
